Your Mission is a public statement of your Purpose. It shares the path you have chosen to take, what you aim to do and how to plan to go about doing it. Your mission statement demonstrates to others how you distinguish yourself from everyone else - it tells the public who you are and what you stand for.

In choosing to create a public statement of purpose, you may decide to create one general mission statement. You may also decide to have multiple mission statements to cover more specific areas of your life. Just as with every other part of your Summit Journey, we want you to choose what's comfortable and feels right to you.

Examples of Specific Missions

  • Family
  • Work
  • Health & Fitness

As you want your mission statement(s) to be clear and easy for others to understand, we recommend keeping it fairly short. Many mission statements are just one or two sentences long. If you feel you need to write more, we suggest your mission statement be a short paragraph containing between two and four sentences.

When writing your mission statement, you may want to take advantage of the Free Write section. Here your thoughts are able to flow freely, and from this writing base you can then pick out the words and phrases that carry importance and seem to reflect your values and purpose as well.
